Private Yoga Therapy

Individualized one-on-one sessions designed to create specific, practical, and lasting internal change.

The Work

Focused. Individual. Structured.

Private yoga therapy offers a space to work directly with your nervous system, conditioning patterns, and lived experience, in a way that is specific, practical, and deeply tailored to you.

This is not a generic yoga session. It is a structured engagement with the internal dynamics that shape how you think, respond, and live. Each session begins with a clear understanding of where you are: not just what you are experiencing, but why, and how the patterns that drive it were formed.

The goal is not simply to manage symptoms or cope more skillfully. It is to create the conditions for more stable and lasting internal change: to shift the underlying patterns rather than work around them indefinitely.

All sessions are conducted online, which means this work is available to you regardless of where you are located. The depth of engagement is not diminished by the virtual format; in many cases, working in your own environment is an advantage.

What We Work With

Areas of Focus

Private sessions may include any combination of the following, depending on what you are working with and where you are in the process.

Nervous System Regulation

Learning to recognize dysregulation, understand what drives it, and build the internal capacity to work with it skillfully rather than through it.

Reactive Patterns

Identifying the patterns that repeat, in how you think, respond, relate, and experience yourself, and understanding their origin and logic.

Conditioning & Habitual Response

Working with the deeper structures of conditioning, specifically the samskāras, that shape behavior and experience beneath the level of conscious choice.

Steadiness & Clarity

Building practices that create a more stable, clear, and grounded relationship with yourself, one that holds over time, not just in optimal conditions.

Right for You?

This Work Is For You If

You are functioning outwardly, but inwardly you feel reactive, overextended, unclear, or disconnected from a deeper sense of steadiness.
You have done meaningful inner work (therapy, meditation, yoga) but certain patterns continue to repeat regardless.
You are not looking for inspiration or coping strategies alone. You want to understand yourself more precisely and create real change in how you live.
You want work that is grounded, structured, and applicable, a way of working that helps you build stability and move through life with greater clarity.
You are willing to engage consistently and take the practices into your life between sessions.

The Process

What to Expect in Your First Session

01
Book a Session

The first step is simply scheduling. For many people, this is the hardest part. It takes real courage to begin something new, especially work that asks you to look inward. The booking process is straightforward. Once you've chosen a time, you'll receive a confirmation and everything you need to prepare.

02
Your First Session

The first session is primarily a conversation, structured and purposeful rather than open-ended. We're building a clear picture of what's happening for you: the patterns you've noticed, the conditions you're working within, and where the work is most needed. Depending on what comes up, we may move into a short practice, but the priority is understanding.

03
A Path Forward

By the end of the first session, you'll have a sense of where the work is heading and what consistent engagement would look like. There's no pressure to commit beyond the session itself. The goal is that you leave with more clarity than you arrived with.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a yoga background?

No. Many clients have no prior yoga experience. The practices we use are therapeutic, drawn from yogic tradition but adapted to your specific situation. You don't need to know poses, Sanskrit, or anything about yoga philosophy to benefit from this work.

How is this different from regular yoga?

A yoga class works with a group through a general sequence. Yoga therapy works with one person through a specific issue. There is no set sequence. Every session is shaped by what you're working with, how your nervous system is functioning, and what the patterns driving your experience actually are. The goal is not movement or fitness. It is internal change.

Is this a form of therapy or mental health treatment?

Yoga therapy is not psychotherapy and is not a substitute for mental health treatment. It works with the body, the nervous system, and the deeper patterns of conditioning to support internal regulation and stability. Many clients do yoga therapy alongside therapy, coaching, or medical care and find the approaches complement each other well.

What does a typical session involve?

Sessions vary depending on what you're working with. They may include conversation, breathwork, specific postures or movement sequences, meditation, or guided inquiry. The through-line is always the same: understanding what's happening and building the internal capacity to work with it differently.

How many sessions will I need?

This depends entirely on what you're working with and what you're working toward. Some people come for a focused series of sessions around a specific issue. Others engage over a longer period as part of an ongoing commitment to inner work. We'll discuss what makes sense after the first session.

How is online yoga therapy different from in-person?

In most cases, the depth of engagement is the same. Being in your own environment can actually be an advantage. The nervous system patterns we're working with show up in daily life, not in a studio. All you need is a quiet space, a video connection, and a mat or floor space if we're doing physical practice.
